CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course is designed for people who are working as Workplace Trainers and Assessors and also those who plan to move into the training and assessing field.

The course is delivered via blended learning, which is a combination of in class and self paced study. The course involves participating in 3 half days (one session per week) of face-to-face classroom delivery to complete the Upgrade qualification and 9 half days (one session per week) for the full certification.

Outside of class time, participants are required to complete a major project and several assessment tasks.

The course is open to all people over 18 years of age. This qualification requires good language, literacy and computing skills and access to a computer with internet access. A major project is undertaken as part of completing the qualification and a workplace or practice environment is required as a context for the project.

Attainment of the TAA40104 qualification is a requirement for gaining employment as a Trainer and Assessor within private and government Registered Training Organisations, and in a similar role within organisations that are not RTOs. An emerging trend is for inclusion of Training & Assessing qualifications in ‘mainstream’ jobs across a broad variety of occupations and industries.

Upgrade candidates attend the final 3 sessions of the course and full certificate candidates attend all 9 sessions.

Our highly experienced Trainers and Assessors deliver the course and with many years of training experience to share with the participants.

Many people in the workplace involved in training were never formally trained. They have gradually moved into a position of training others by on the job experience. Developing the skills and potential of your labour force by accredited training and assessment methods improves staff performance and confidence in their role, often resulting in increased performance levels and longer staff retention.
